Town of Plainfield Awarded State Grant to Complete Its Vandalia Trail
On March 4, Governor Holcomb announced the 18 winners of
Next Level Trails Round 2 trail construction grants. The Town of Plainfield was among the winners and
will receive $1.7 million to build 2.3 miles of Vandalia Trail on the east side of town. This will complete
Plainfield's Vandalia Trail within the town's current borders, east to west.
The route of this 2.3 miles will run from the current trailhead near Perry Road east around the traffic circle,
then on to Klondike Road by Adessa Auto Auction, jogging south to the north side of US 40, then parallel to US 40 to
their recently built trail section and trailhead by Raceway Road.
