More than 70 Participate in People Pathways Pedal & Pound Event

More than 70 walkers, runners, and cyclists participated in the People Pathways Pedal & Pound annual fundraising event on the Vandalia Trail on September 20, co-sponsored by the Putnam County Health Department. The wide variety of participants enjoyed round trips to Fillmore (8 miles), Coatesville (17 miles), and even some on to Amo (23 miles). The generous supply of tasty refreshments at each of the rest stops, thanks to Bert & Betty’s Kitchen, the Coatesville Food Center, Walmart, and Culligan, left no one hungry or thirsty. Many also stopped by the Fillmore Volunteer Fire Department annual Chicken BBQ next to the trail for a full lunch. The long row of bikes parked outside the Chicken BBQ tent highlighted their presence.

There were a number of other similar events around central Indiana that day, so for those who were not able to join in, but would still like to help the project, they can send a donation made out to:

The participants were very generous with free will donations the day of the event, but the future Putnam County Vandalia Trail conditions and development will be further improved and the efforts of the small group of volunteers who manage it will be greatly magnified with additional financial assistance.

Feel free to note “Vandalia Trail” on the memo line.
