The packed stone trail for bicyclists and pedestrians connecting Coatesville and Putnam County is now completely open.
Generous grants from the Deedee Daniel Opportunity Fund and the Benson Fund of the Hendricks County
Community Foundation and from the Central Indiana Bicycling Association Foundation along with private donations made
possible this new 1.1-mile section of the Vandalia Trail from Mill Street in Coatesville to CR 875 E in Putnam County.
In addition to the new trail surface, this section includes new gates and entrance features provided by People
Pathways of Putnam County, the Putnamville Correctional Facility, Hendricks County Parks & Recreation, Duke Energy, and
construction help from the town of Coatesville and from volunteers with the Friends of the Vandalia Trail.

along this section as well as other related work in the Coatesville area this year.
Development work on the future equestrian trail along this section will continue through the winter and Spring
of 2013, with opening planned for Spring or summer.
