Hendricks County Parks Fun Run/Walk Draws Record Number to Amo

On Wednesday, July 9, Hendricks County Parks & Recreation held their annual Vandalia Trail Fun Run/Walk event as part of their countywide Summer Fun Run Series and drew 142 walkers and runners to the trail in Amo, a record for this location. Participants enjoyed routes of 1 mile and 5K in perfect weather conditions along with the number of trail improvements implemented in the past year. The town of Amo opened the restored Interurban Depot for participants to tour and to access the restrooms and made available the large open greenspace in the center of town for the much needed parking.

Hendricks County Parks representatives marked the routes, were on hand for registration and to explain the route, and provided much appreciated ice water to drink. Representatives from Hendricks Regional Health, the Runners Forum, and the Hendricks County Runners Club were also on hand with information about their organizations.

Photos of the many of the participants are posted on the Vandalia Trail Facebook page.
