Hendricks County Parks Opens Vandalia Trail in Clayton
As part of its Vandalia Trail expansion work, Hendricks County Parks and Recreation completed construction in July of the trailhead and 0.4-mile paved section of Vandalia Trail in the town of Clayton. The trailhead is in the eastern part of the town's Lambert Park with the trail routed south to CR 500 S and then as a sidepath along the north side of the road to Michigan Street on the west edge of the town.

At the same time, Hendricks County Parks and Recreation has applied for grants to extend that paved trail west about 2 miles on property that it already owns. Construction is most likely to begin in 2027. This will reduce the trail gap to the town of Amo in half.
